The following are examples of bad typography, which can unfortunately be found all over campus!
In the example above, the tiny paragraphs appear to be an after-thought. Clearly, the main focus was the image, but type is just as important to consider especially when creating signage.
In this example, the type is stretched and distorted, especially on the sign to the far right. In addition, there seems to be a disconnect between the two posters and the type does not work well together.
In this example, there are too many different kinds of type. This, along with the arrangement of the type, clutters the flyer and makes it appear disorganized.
In this example, the type at the top is stretched and the time is the second largest item on the flyer, which seems odd and stands out in a negative way.
In this example, there are again too many different typefaces and some words are hard to see against the background due to their color and placement on the page.
One of the main things that is wrong with this flyer is that the yellow type is hard to read. This is due to the typeface that is being used - it's legibility is low, especially at small sizes. Important information such as date, location, and time should always be legible on posters and flyers.
This is an example of bad typography for many reasons. First, the type at the bottom of the flyer seems to go back into space, making it very hard to read. It also does not stand out against the background. Additionally, it is partially cut off at the bottom. On top of that, the other blocks of text are justified all the way to the edge of the page and look very awkward.
